Ostensibly a desperate battle to save the galaxy, Astariel is in reality an interactive light show.

The "aliens" are simply beings of light descending in patterned waves to be dispersed by the light beams emanating from your ship.

And whilst the journey may be to planet Astariel - the real destination is the present moment.
